Treating wastewater means: Keeping the good things circulating.

Wastewater from producing cheese and refining whey is full of organic impurities. REMONDIS has found an economical solution for the DMK Deutsches Milchkontor in Altentreptow and transforms a large amount of the impurities into valuable biogas.

Wastewater contains many different kinds of materials – dangerous materials but valuable ones, too. Whoever treats wastewater from production processes, therefore, generally takes over two tasks: they not only recover clean water but also valuable raw materials. Using modern facilities, for example, it is possible to separate metal particles and then process them so that they can once again be used in production. State-of-the-art wastewater treatment facilities enable heavily polluted wastewater to be treated to such an extent that it can be fed back into the water cycle.
